Who is Career Coaching for?
Here are some examples of the career coaching work I do with clients:
- identifying 'what next' when you're unsure
- identifying the ideal career or role for you
- clarifying your strengths and achievements for a CV
- getting up on LinkedIn or other social media
Benefits
Career Coaching provides the time and space to really focus on the most important person - you. It is a wonderful opportunity to see if anything 'could be better', tackle any frustrations or blocks and then explore what possibilities there are for you.
- You create a clear vision of a career or work that is absolutely right for you and a plan for how to create it.
- You proactively manage your career, set new directions and achieve more than you were considering.
- Personal learning happens - together, and then independently you increase your self- awareness.
- The simple fact of setting up time and focussing on you ideally makes it enjoyable and worthwhile.
How does it work?
We have an initial complementary conversation or 'chemistry' session to understand a little more about each other and see if we think that together we're the best coaching partnership.
We review your current work situation, what's worked in the past, what you enjoy and what you find more challenging. We may use a tool or assessment depending on your needs and self-awareness. They'll be some exercises too to help your understanding. We'll build up a picture about your ideal role, explore possibilities for the future and create a plan! You then take steps that work for you to get you there. There's a little more to it than that and the process is very evolving as each person's situation and circumstances are very different.
Initially, I help you define the frequency of coaching that will work for you as well as your objectives. The coaching can be face-to-face and/or over the phone. Between the sessions, we agree activity or steps that are relevant to your coaching objectives.
I work face-to-face and by phone so you can be based within or outside the UK. My coaching is flexible and geared towards your specific needs.

What I originally wanted from the coaching was confidence in myself to know what I’m good at. I knew academically what my strengths were but I didn’t know what else I was good at or how to sell myself without feeling like I was overstating the truth or lying. I also wanted some guidance on how to improve my CV and what careers were best suited to my skill-set. I feel like I achieved all of this from the career coaching, I have a much better CV, good ideas of what careers to research, how to move forward with finding my career path and I now also have the confidence in myself to know what my unique selling points are to prospective employers. This is by far the most useful part as I now feel prepared to do myself justice in any job/career I apply for in the future. The career coaching was incredibly useful and valuable and I would recommend it to anyone.
